もしAがなければ
If it were not for Aで「もしAがなければ」という意味を表します。
これは現実とは異なる仮定を表す表現です。
例文
If it were not for the sun, there would be no life on Earth.
もし太陽がなければ、地球に生命は存在しないでしょう。
If it were not for your support, I couldn't have completed the project.
あなたの支えがなければ、そのプロジェクトを完了できなかったでしょう。

似た表現で「If it hadn’t been for A」があります。
これも同じく「もし～がなければ」という仮定を表します。
２つの違いは、「If it were not for A」は現在・未来、「If it hadn’t been for A」は過去の仮定を表すという点です。
「If it hadn’t been for his help, I wouldn’t have passed the exam.（彼の助けがなければ、試験に合格していなかっただろう）」のように使うことができます。
時制を意識する…。実際の会話の中で意識するのはとても難しそうですね。
時制をしっかり扱えるようになると、自分の英語に自信を持てそうです。
